Incubus Realms - Kink Exploration in Fantasy

Hey there! So, I'm hoping if you're reading this you've had a listen to the Fetish In Videogames episode with Ghuraok.

If you haven't - go listen to it now! It gives more context to this post 😉

(Sorry for posting this late - it's been a busy week with personal things going on!)

So - let's begin by talking about Ghu - a wonderful human, talented artist, and now a skilled game developer. Not only is he an incredibly friendly and approachable bear - his art style is incredibly unique, which really makes Incubus Realms a beautiful combination of art and fetish. Now, Ghu is very open and vocal about his work - as seen by the episode. As much as we would tangent (the issue of two ADHD individuals having a conversation), you can tell how passionate and invested he is in his work - and how open and receptive to feedback he is.

--

If you haven't heard of Incubus Realms before now - I really recommend you try it.

--

You can try it for free on Ghu's Itch.io - and if you like it, I strongly suggest supporting him on Patreon - so he can continue working on it! https://ghuraok.itch.io/incubus-realms-escapism

Ghu has just announced he's changing from Ren'Py over to Godot, He started with little knowledge of coding and has advanced so far he has grown out of the confines of Rn'Py, meaning he needs something bigger. This is great news for the game - as it means Ghu can expand the game and stick true to his desired result!

--

So let's talk a little bit about Incubus Realms. I'll try not to give away any spoilers!

--

You wake up in a colourful jail cell - naked and not knowing how you got here. You need to find your friends and find a way out. Although, the prison guards aren't... human. The game is heavily fantasy based - with interactions with different species, transformation aspects, BDSM aspects, it has something for everyone.

--

Now, if you're like me, I love games that have consumables that have an effect. 9 times out of 10 - if I can gain multiple of an item - I will use it over and over to see what it will do, and Incubus Realms delivers. With many items that have status effects, gradual stacking effects, or even transformative effects, there's so many different aspects to explore and try. Ghu has even went as far as allowing items to be used on your friends - which can have some interesting results!

--

But not even just items - there are objects in the world you can interact with that do the same - there's also time based events that can either lead to a new area, or lead to the player being involved in something.

--

In all honesty - as much as the game is still in development - there is so much to do that you should really try it yourself. Ghu has an active community, and welcomes feedback, so if you try the game - leaving feedback can help with the progression of the game!

--

I will say - as discussed in the episode - please don't play for 5 minutes and decide that's all there is to offer. Personally, I've spent several hours exploring the game and even I haven't discovered everything there is to find yet.

If you do decide to join Ghu's patreon - let him know Dax sent you!
